Lore - Being a fan used to be fun. We are going to fix it.
Being a fan used to be fun — but today, fandom discovery is scattered across multiple platforms, disorganized threads, hostile forums, and outdated wikis. It’s impossible to rabbit-hole without opening dozens of tabs and there’s no way to keep track of your progress as you spiral deeper into your niche obsessions. Not anymore. We take all the lore you seek from your favorite stories and interests and put it all in one organized, intuitive, and customizable space. The online fan experience is fragmented, toxic, and broken.
Lore is going to fix it.
When man first discovered fire, we gathered around it, drawn to light, to warmth, to each other. There, in the mesmerizing glow of a wild flame, we began to tell stories.
We shared tales of gods and monsters, of lovers and liars, of villains and heroes.
And something inside us awakened.
Along the way, it became one of our highest callings to preserve what moves us, to make meaning of what might otherwise be lost.
And though millennia have passed, the impulse remains. You can find it in the season finale watch party and the debates you start after. Or in fast-moving threads and the theories that keep you up at night. In the moments you feel seen and known by a total stranger, and your obsession finds its match.
It’s in our DNA.
So, we do what we were created to do.
We wonder; we explore; we create; we follow each other into strange, unknown places and we find beauty there; we hunger for something profound and universal, and even though we may never find it, we keep searching anyway.
This is what it means to be human.
This is our Lore.
We are not just keepers of stories, we are the ones who give them life. And the magic that sustains them, that spark that keeps them burning, is something infinite that lives in us too.
We are the memory of the universe manifesting over and over again.
How lucky we are to know it.
Zehra Naqvi
Founder, CEO
A lifelong stan, proud Disney adult, and child prodigy in business, Zehra is the founder and CEO of Lore. Her love for pop culture began when High School Musical first premiered on the Disney Channel, at age 6. When she was 11, One Direction formed on The X Factor, inspiring her to create an anonymous Tumblr account dedicated to the boy band and eventually amassing over 100,000 followers. At age 16, she leveraged that following to start a profitable fashion brand called GLO, which soon became envied (and copied) by legacy designer houses. Later on, Zehra studied at Columbia University and by age 21, she was a twice-published art historian.
Zehra eventually found herself in the spooky world of venture capitalism, and during her stint as an angel investor, she began thinking about ways her experiences as an avid fan could be streamlined, leading to the conceptualization of Lore. During one of the prouder moments of her life, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stopped her on the street to compliment her outfit. It was a big deal.
